Alyeska The Great Land

Well we are on our way. We left Delaware on Saturday the 12th. We stopped at Cabela’s in West Virginia the first night. Sunday we met our Friends Marc and Molly in Columbus for lunch on our way to Jackson Center Oh, home of Airstream.
At the first rest stop we saw three blades for one of the large electric generating windmills. It was 120 feet long and eight feet in diameter.

We stayed two nights at the Airstream factory and had a wheel alignment done. Next stop was Peoria, Il. At camp Wally World. From there we went to visit the Amana Colonies in Iowa for two days (learn more http://www.amanacolonies.com/history.htm ). Very neat area, a lot to see and do.

From there we went to West Bend Ia. to see the Grotto of the Redemption. We were amazed at the construction and the use of semi precious stones and rocks. http://www.westbendgrotto.com/index.htm We camped there Friday night and are now in Mitchell Sd. on Saturday, night home of the Corn Palace.
